Exciting drive to Fyresdal

From Vrådal you'll drive south along beautiful lake Nisser, Telemark's largest lake. You can choose from to routes; either on the east side on the main road through Nissedal, or take a cable ferry over to the west side and small road along beautiful beaches. Both alternatives end up in Treungen. Here you can visit Z-Museum and Pipo Playground.

From Treungen we'll continue towards Tjønnefoss and from there towards Fyresdal over Våmur (670 meters). This strech offers wide and grand views over lake Fyresvatn and Setesdal. You'll drive along lake Fyresvant all the way to the centre of Fyresdal, also called Folkestadbyen.

In Folkestadbyen you'll find a tourist information and shops and the local government can also be found here. There is also an open air museum with traditional buildings and an interesting collection of old things.

If you have time, we recommend going to Kvipt Gjestegard. Approx. 40 minutes drive from the main road you'll find this beautiful mountain farm. Here you'll find a pottery shop, traditonal Norwegian storehouses, Telemark cows and café with homemade traditonal food.

Back in Fyresdal you'll continue the drive through beautiful villages, past lake Skrevatn with the polished mountain sides og to Vråliosen. Follow Vråvatn for the rest of the drive back to Vrådal.
